As many of us in Europe continue suffering wintry weather with snow blizzards and cold winds, you will be happy to know that Trinity Day Care centre in Kudunure, South India is celebrating the start of summer!
At the rear of TDCC building is a large play area and over the years Friends of TREAD trustees have taken part in planting trees for shade. The most popular are coconut palms which have the bonus of providing coconuts for everyone to enjoy.
The only snag is that coconuts have a habit of falling on your head, so as soon as they are ripe, some enterprising youngsters shin up the trees to pick them.
The juice inside is refreshing to drink and the flesh can be used for cooking.
Whichever way you look at it, South India is a good place to be at this time of year!
