It’s the beginning of July and all over Europe children are finishing school for the summer holidays. But in southern India, the summer holidays are over and the new school year has already begun. The climate being what it is in India, the heat becomes unendurable by mid April so schools shut until mid June.
Trinity Day Care centre in Kudunure, Telangana reopened for the new school year a couple of weeks ago and will continue offering its service of before and after school care to children.
The children arrive after 7am and enjoy a good breakfast. Before they leave for school there is a morning assembly and then they line up for school. Without TREAD’s day care centres, few children would bother going to school.
At the end of the school day all the children return to TDCC and enjoy some playtime in the garden. Homework is supervised and a good nutritional meal provided before they return home at around 6pm.
At the start of this new school year, the children were delighted to receive smart new satchels and stationery generously donated by Indian charity CHHASE.
Thank you very much Mr Paul Vincent and your team!
